Prints on Fine Art papers of cotton rag and canvas look wonderful and from a few feet away are hard to tell from the original. The pigmented inks and media are rated  80 to 130 years. Facsimilies of Historic Artifacts for Public Display  I work with many archivists, historical institutions and conservation groups to photograph, photo-restore and produce facsimilies for display. Many original manuscripts and documents which need to be seen by the public would be destroyed by light in a few short years so high quality facsimilies [prints] are produced for display. Artifacts of this type are priceless so usually I photograph on location in their archives.  I photograph with careful attention to detail and always use safe procedures when photographing to protect the original artifact. I can extensively photo-restore, without touching the original, to repair and enhance the image. All photo-retouching is done by hand not electronic filtering to preserve original detail.
